EASY HOME AYURVEDIC REMEDIES
DINCHARYA
Start your day the Ayurvedic way—wake up early, scrape your tongue, sip warm water, and follow a daily routine (dinacharya) that aligns your body with nature’s rhythm. It’s the simplest way to bring harmony to your doshas.
ABHYANGA
Indulge in a daily self-massage (abhyanga) using warm oil suited to your dosha. It boosts circulation, calms the nerves, and deeply nourishes your skin—like a spa day, every day.
NINDRA
Good sleep (nidra) is non-negotiable in Ayurveda. Head to bed early, wake up with the sun, and try a relaxing oil foot massage to ground your energy before sleeping.
TURMERIC
A golden healer, turmeric balances all three doshas and supports immunity, digestion, and skin health. For an easy daily dose, stir up some golden milk with turmeric, black pepper, ghee, and honey.
HAIR LOSS TREAMENT
Mix 1 part cinnamon, 2 parts honey, and 3 parts olive oil into a paste. Apply to your scalp, leave for 30 minutes, then rinse. This nourishing blend promotes hair growth and prevents premature greying.
INSOMNIA TREATMENT
Soothe your mind with warm milk infused with cardamom, or cinnamon and honey before bed. Prefer herbal? Try a calming mint and honey tisane—perfect for easing into sleep naturally.
COLD TREATMENTS
Beat the sniffles with a healing brew of hot water, cinnamon sticks, dried hibiscus, ginger, and honey. For sore throats, gargle warm water mixed with a pinch of turmeric.
MIGRAINE TREATMENT
Ease the pain by applying a mix of ground cloves and cinnamon oil to your temples or forehead. Leave it on for 20–30 minutes to naturally reduce tension and inflammation.
ANXIETY TREATMENTS
Boil rose petals in water, cool to lukewarm, and add a pinch of sugar—sip slowly for peace of mind. Another remedy: saffron milk paired with a sweet blend of almonds, coconut, fennel, and black pepper.
SKINCARE TREATMENTS
Breakouts? Blame excess pitta. Balance it with cooling herbs like fennel, coriander seeds, and aloe vera. Stay hydrated and avoid oily, spicy, or sour foods for naturally glowing skin.
DETOX TREATMENT
Support natural detox with warm water + lemon first thing in the morning. Add a pinch of rock salt and ginger juice for extra cleansing power. Triphala powder at night also gently flushes toxins.
DIGESTION BOOSTER
For sluggish digestion, chew on a few fennel seeds after meals or sip cumin-coriander-fennel tea. A slice of fresh ginger with rock salt before eating also revs up your digestive fire (agni).
EYE CARE RITIUALS
Soothe tired eyes with a splash of cool rose water or place cucumber slices over closed lids. For dry or strained eyes, try blinking gently while looking at a ghee lamp in the evening—known to calm pitta.
JOINT PAIN RELIEF
Massage sore joints with warm sesame or castor oil. Follow with a hot compress to ease stiffness. Internally, turmeric with black pepper supports inflammation reduction.
IMMUNITY SUPPORT
Amla (Indian gooseberry) is an Ayurvedic superfruit packed with Vitamin C. Add it to your routine via juice, chutney, or powder. Also, sip tulsi-ginger-honey tea daily for immune strength.
ORAL HEALTH
Practice oil pulling—swish a tablespoon of sesame or coconut oil in your mouth for 5–10 minutes to remove toxins and improve gum health. Herbal tooth powders like neem or clove are excellent for brushing.
SEASONAL CLEANSE (Ritucharya)
Adapt your diet with the seasons. In summer, go for cooling foods like cucumber and mint. In winter, opt for warming spices like cinnamon and cardamom. It keeps your doshas balanced all year long.
MENSTRUAL WELLNESS
Ease cramps naturally with warm water infused with fennel and ajwain (carom seeds). Gentle abhyanga (oil massage) on the lower abdomen with castor oil can also provide relief.
ENERGY ENHANCERS
Feeling drained? Try chyawanprash, a traditional herbal jam rich in adaptogens and antioxidants. Or simply start your day with a spoon of honey + pinch of cinnamon in warm water.
MOOD UPLIFTERS
Lift low moods with aromatic rituals—burn calming incense like sandalwood or use essential oils like lavender and rose. Brahmi tea or ashwagandha also helps restore emotional balance.
DEHYDRATION
Solution: Sip bael (wood apple) juice or coconut water with a pinch of rock salt and jaggery. Add sabja (basil) seeds for cooling and hydration support. Avoid caffeine and spicy foods during heatwaves.
IMMUNITY WEAKNESS
Solution: Giloy (Guduchi) is a powerful immune booster. Boil its stem in water, strain, and drink daily. It purifies blood, fights infections, and reduces fever.
HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE
Solution: Arjun ki chhaal (bark of the Arjuna tree) is excellent for heart health. Boil in water and drink on an empty stomach. It strengthens cardiac muscles and maintains BP levels naturally.
LOW ENERGY & FATIGUE
Solution: Try Ashwagandha for stamina and adrenal balance. Mix the powder with warm milk or ghee. Also great as a post-workout recovery tonic.
URINARY TRACT ISSUES
Solution: Gokshura and Punarnava are your go-to herbs. Take them as teas or in tablet form to reduce inflammation and improve kidney function. Also, barley water helps flush out toxins.
SKIN ALLERGIES & RASHESH
Solution: Use Neem internally and externally. Apply neem paste to the skin, or bathe with neem-infused water. Also drink turmeric and neem powder in lukewarm water for purification.
ACIDITY & BLOATING
Solution: Avipattikar churna is an Ayurvedic powder that helps with acidity. For bloating, try a tea made with ajwain (carom seeds), fennel, and a pinch of hing (asafoetida).
LIVER DETOX
Solution: Kalmegh (King of Bitters) and Bhumyamalaki are powerful liver cleansers. Use as decoctions or powders. Add turmeric and lemon water to your morning routine.
PCOS & HORMONAL IMBALANCE
Solution: Shatavari balances female hormones and supports menstrual health. Take with warm milk daily. Combine with yoga and a clean diet for best results.
FEVER & INFLAMMATION
Solution: Giloy, Tulsi, and Sunthi (dry ginger) decoction helps bring down fever and reduce body aches. Sip this warm herbal tea 2–3 times a day for relief.
