New products expressed hope that this seminar will achieve its goals and lead to valuable results.
The second speaker of the opening ceremony was Dr. Shahrazad Javanshir (Secretary of the 25th Iranian Organic Chemistry Seminar), who introduced the honors and achievements of the Faculty of Chemistry of the university and also presented a report on the process of holding this seminar.
He pointed out that the Iranian organic chemistry seminar will be held after 16 years under the auspices of Iran University of Science and Technology in Tehran, and explained that out of the total of 565 papers received, after judging, 545 papers were in the form of posters and 20 papers were in the form of keynote speeches. The duration of the seminar is provided. The secretary of the seminar also explained the current situation of the faculty of chemistry of the Iran University of Science and Technology, and pointed out the study of 845 master’s students in five majors and 106 doctoral students in four majors of chemistry, and regarding the honors of this faculty, he said: In the list of the top five universities and research institutes The field of basic sciences at the global level, the Faculty of Chemistry of Iran University of Science and Technology is among the top one percent in chemistry.
Dr. Javanshir expressed his hope that by paying attention to chemical industries and analysis during chemical processes, we will witness the reduction of environmental pollution and solve its problems in the country.
In the continuation of the ceremony, the memorial of Dr. Hojatullah Karimpour (retired faculty member of the Faculty of Chemistry of Iran University of Science and Technology, who passed away on the 8th of this August) was held by reviewing his biography and presenting a plaque to his wife. Then Dr. Zulfi Gol (Vice President and Secretary of the Iranian Chemical Society) gave a speech. First, he explained the important activities of the Iranian Chemical Society and mentioned the planning of holding 9 seminars in 2016 and the publication of six journals, three of which are ISI.
The secretary of the Iranian Chemistry Association presented statistics on the state of our country in the Scopus and ISI databases and said that Iran’s international participation in scientific documentation is 20%, and in this field, chemistry has been a pioneer. Regarding the references of the articles, he said that the most cited chemistry article in the country belongs to Dr. Yaqub Asadi and Dr. Mohammad Reza Milani Hosseini from Iran University of Science and Technology, whose 2006 article has 1870 references. He stated: If we want to have something to say in the world, we must offer more international work.
In the end, the secretary of the Iranian Chemical Society pointed out some practical proposals, including the promotion of public and elite supervision over the country’s higher education and the production process of science and technology.
In the continuation of the opening ceremony, Dr. Hossein Naimi and Dr. Bibi Fatemeh Mirjalili, two selected members of the Iranian Chemistry Society, were presented with a plaque. Also, the certificate of appreciation of the Iranian Chemistry Association was awarded to Dr. Shahrazad Javanshir (Secretary), Dr. Ali Maleki (Scientific Secretary) and Dr. Mohammad Qorban Dekamin (Executive Secretary) of the 25th Iranian Organic Chemistry Seminar.
It should be mentioned that the 25th seminar of organic chemistry of Iran, with the goals of penetration of technologies based on organic chemistry in various industries; Development of new technologies in organic chemistry; synergy between researchers, researchers, universities and knowledge-based companies active in the field of organic chemistry; waste management and removal of environmental pollutants; Examining obstacles and challenges and improving processes in the field of environment, energy, agriculture, etc.; promotion of safety, health and health; restoration of ancient works and manuscripts; Investigating and presenting solutions for removing pollution from underground aquifers and producing safe and healthy agricultural products in eleven specialized areas including: synthesis of organic materials; Green chemistry and sustainable development; catalysts (nanocatalysts, biocatalysts, organocatalysts, etc.); environment, new and renewable energies; Heterocycle Chemistry; Chemistry of natural compounds and phytochemistry; photochemistry; Computational organic chemistry; Chemical industries (cosmetics, food, pharmaceutical…); Polymer chemistry and nanochemistry will be held in three days.
In addition to holding the 25th Iranian organic chemistry seminar, four new effective medicinal substances will be unveiled at the Iran University of Science and Technology.
These new active pharmaceutical ingredients include sofosovir (an effective active ingredient in the anti-hepatitis C virus drug), clopidogrel (an effective anti-blood clotting active ingredient for heart and stroke patients), atorvastatin (an effective anti-hyperlipidemic active ingredient) and Nifedipine is an effective drug in antihypertensive drugs.
